About the Founder
Owner, Manager
I am Shoichi Sugawara, Managing Director of Nautical Trading Services.
We provide vessel support, emergency procurement, and logistics coordination for U.S. government and commercial operations across Japan, working closely with major shipyards, agents, and contractors nationwide.
My background is in maritime logistics and port operations, with hands-on experience in vessel support, including coordination of repairs, material sourcing, and on-site execution under time-critical conditions.
In 2017, I was appointed Division Manager of a defense logistics division supporting U.S. Navy and allied vessel operations in Japan. Under my leadership, the division expanded significantly, generating over USD 7.5 million in annual revenue.
In 2023, I was engaged as the lead contractor supporting recovery and on-site operations following a U.S. military aircraft incident, working alongside U.S. Navy and Air Force units under challenging operational conditions.
I also serve in the U.S. Army Reserve, which further strengthens my ability to align U.S. operational requirements with Japanese industry capabilities.
Through Nautical Trading Services, I remain committed to delivering precise, reliable, and responsive support to clients operating across the Indo-Pacific region.
